NEA OECD will participate in “AtomEco 2013” round table

During AtomEco 2013 a round table with the participation of Nuclear Energy Agency’s representatives (NEA OECD) will take place.

 

For the first time at the VII International Forum AtomEco 2013 a round table with the participation of representatives of the Department for Radiation Protection and Radioactive Waste Management of Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), will take place.

 

Work materials of the Department for Radiation Protection and Radioactive Waste Management, including handling of radioactive waste upon decommissioning of nuclear and radiation-dangerous objects, of nuclear development and legislation will be presented at the round table “Experience of NEA OECD Activities and International Cooperation”.

 

The principles of agency activities, current projects, significant results and work outlook will be presented. This information will be interesting both for heads of industry organizations and for professional stuff members.

 

The main topic of the VII International Forum AtomEco 2013, which will take place on October 30-31 in Moscow, is defined as “Nuclear power industry – the strategy of no damage harm”. The aspects of radioactive waste and spent fuel management, including opportunities for international cooperation and multisectoral technology transfer will be discussed in the course of the forum.

Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) is an organization which unites 30 countries for possibility of elaboration and perfection of economic and social policy, sharing experiences and finding solutions to common problems and developing of coherent internal and external policy.

Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) is an intergovernmental organization of advanced industrial countries and it is a specialized agency of Organization for Economic Cooperation and (OECD). NEA was created for rendering assistance, in the frame of international cooperation, to member states in maintaining and further development of scientific, technological and legal bases which are necessary for safe, environmentally sound and economical peaceful uses of nuclear energy. NEA consists of 31 countries from Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region. Russia is a full member of NEA from January 1, 2013.
